Mimi Legat was trained in classical ballet at the Legat School in England.
She has performed with ballet companies in Oslo, Hamburg, and Charleroi (Belgium).
She has appeared as a dancer and has served as a choreographer for many Washington National Opera productions over the last 30 years. During that time, she was also a ballet teacher at the American University, George Washington University and several other dance schools in the Washington, D.C. area.
Mimi Legat is the grand-daughter of Nicholas and Nadine Legat.
