Fiona Dear Melvin was trained at the Legat school of Russian Ballet. She graduated at 17 to The Scottish Ballet Company where she remained for twelve years

Jamila attended The Legat School of Russian Ballet from 1972-1978. She then continued her educational studies in New York and returned to Kuwait
